During the course of the year the crew of Larne Lifeboat are called to many shouts.  

The following is an example of the shouts they responded to and the rescues they made during 2008.

 

29 January

Called to assist Portrush Lifeboat at Rathlin Island

23 April

Search for missing person off the Gobbins Cliff, Islandmagee

30 May

Drifting vessel in the vicinity of the Black Arch

18 June

Broken down yacht between the Gobbins and Whitehead

28 June

Called to assist yacht at Corswell Point, Scotland

29 June

Required to assist vessel 2 miles south of Glenarm

30 June

Vessel required assistance in the shipping channel off Ballylumford Harbour in near gale force 7 wind

12 August

Dog entangled in net off the slipway at Ballygally Head

17 August

Inflatables blown offshore at Port Muck

24 August

Broken down speedboat broken down off Port Muck Harbour and being blown out to sea

28 August

Yacht requiring assistance near the Maidens rocks

17 September

Persons in difficulty at cliffs north of Port Muck

Yacht being driven ashore at Magheramorne by gusting winds
