Royal Navy Diesel Paddle Tug.
One of the `Director' class of paddle tugs, built by `Ferguson Bros' for the Royal Navy to handle aircraft carriers, a duty they were particularly suited to. Built in 1958 she was disposed of and eventually scrapped in Spain in 1980. The twin diesel electric drive, exhausting through twin funnels, through chain drive to the side paddles.
Our full-size plans allow for a nice scale model to be built, although not quite right!, the model can be modified to take the `Graupner' plastic paddles, she makes into a unusual and different model, surprisingly manoeuvrable with individual paddle control through the R/C. a model best suited to the more practiced modeller.
