GULLIERMO DIEZ ARNÁIZ

Organ

Gulliermo Diez Arnáiz is one of a number of present-day Spanish organists of real ability. Few of these, beyond Josep Mas y Bonet (Barcelona Cathedral) and the masterly Montserrrat Torrent (also from Catalunya), are known outside Spain. Gulliermo Diez Arnáiz began his musical education at the Conservatorio de Música in Burgos, and studied advanced piano performance at the Paris Conservatoire. He studied organ at the Conservatoire in Strasbourg before returning to Paris to prepare a Doctoral thesis.

A respected teacher in several conservatorios and colleges, he is also Director of the Centro de Estudios Músicales in Burgos. He composes for film, radio and television, records extensively as an accompanist and is an experienced choral conductor. Gulliermo Diez Arnáiz is Assistant Maestro de Capilla at Burgos Cathedral, and responsible for two historic organs (one of which dates from 1638).
