GERVASE DE PEYER (Director)
Chamber Ensemble

Gervase de Peyer is now the World's most recorded clarinettist, and co-founded the Melos Ensemble of London in 1952. Later, he founded the Melos Sinfonia in the United States of America, and continues as its Artistic Director today. The Melos Ensemble of London has always held a reputation for musicianship of the very highest quality (as was borne out in a major charity gala concert given recently in London, for the Order of St. John).

The Melos Ensemble of London is variable in size, according to requirements, and draws upon a circle of prominent chamber musicians whose names have been associated with Gervase de Peyer over the years. Further reference to
Gervase de Peyer and his duo partner, Gwenneth Pryor, can be found elsewhere in this site.

Recently, the BBC Radio 3 programme "CD Masters" ran a feature on the original Melos Ensemble of London, some of whose superb recordings have been re-released on Compact Disc by EMI Classics.
