AFC Wimbledon Youth  - Players

Liam Poupart:  SYL & Surrey County representative player. Signed from Woking Cougars this season, Liam is the best goalkeeper in the SYL. Combines agility with good positional sense and a safe pair of hands.

Scott Fullerton: Formely with Cheam Town. An attacking right-back who is equally effective as a right midfielder. Scott has exceptional ball control and likes to get forward to initiate or support attacks down the right flank.

Charlie Dennis: SYL representative player, and previously with Cheam Town. A left back who is equally comfortable operating as a left midfielder. Very strong both in the tackle and in the air. Charlie is an excellent crosser of the ball, and at left back has no equal at this level.

Jack Malin: Merton Borough Schools representative player. Signed   by Cheam Town from FC Carshalton in 2004. A centre-back blessed with plenty of power and pace. A good man marker, whose speed and strength are sometimes used to unsettle tiring defences. Jack also referees on the Kingston & District and Surrey South Eastern Combination Leagues.

James Snishko:  SYL & Surrey County representative player. Ex Cheam Town, and probably the best centre-back in the SYL. A great tackler, very energetic, ubiquitous and has a tremendous turn of speed. Very comfortable on the ball, and likes to surge forward or play out from the back.

Teejay Ryan: Vice captain.  SYL & Surrey County representative player. Ex Cheam Town. A very strong midfield player, committed in the tackle, and a good header of the ball. Teejay's powerful shot makes him something of a dead-ball specialist.

Matthew Braben: Team captain. Ex Cheam Town. Has fast feet and skill on the ball, and sets up plays from the middle of the park. Also a good tackler who uses the ball well. Always looking to push forward in search of goals.

Matthew Ferdinando: A newcomer this season from Epsom Eagles, who has impressed with his talented midfield performances. Determined and skilful player, good range of passing, clever feet, a strong tackler, and likes to get forward and score goals.

Timi Borges da Silva: SYL & Surrey County representative player. Formely with Tooting & Mitcham and Cheam Town. Although sometimes tending to play on his own down either wing, Timi is a potential match winner and the most naturally-talented player in the team. Capable of scoring brilliant individual goals with slaloms through entire defences by means of his electrifying speed and footwork.

Sonny Russell: SYL representative player. Signed by Cheam Town from Manorcroft United in 2003. A very talented and powerful midfield player, who has a great engine and is very comfortable on the ball. Good in the air, strong in the tackle, and has a wide range of passing skills. Normally plays as a second striker in the hole, but is comfortable in other positions including central defence.

Troy Murray: Formely with AFC Wimbledon Youth A. A quick striker with a good touch, and technically very proficient in ball control. Troy has the ability to hold the ball up well, and bring others into the game. Top scorer this season with 21 goals.

Jamie Corcoran: A very good footballer who signed for the team this season from Epsom Eagles. Can play as a holding midfielder or at centre-back. Jamie has a good range of passing skills, and is a solid tackler.

Luke Ewing: Ex Cheam Town. An excellent footballer and a very good striker of the ball. Often plays down the left of midfield, where the vision of his passing can often unlock defences.

Sahil Patel: Ex Cheam Town. A committed squad player who can play between the nets and as a left-sided defender or midfielder. Skilful, intelligent player with good passing ability.
