Welcome to the Home Page of Saint Wilfrid's Church. It is one of York's oldest Catholic Churches, situated in Duncombe Place which is in the very heart of the city and a stone's throw away from the famous York Minster. Our doors are open from 8.00 a.m to 6.30 p.m for anyone who would like to come and pray, join in our twice-daily Masses or simply sit quietly and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this nineteenth-century church. We are also responsible for the running of Saint Margaret Clitherow's Shrine in the ancient Shambles. Mass is celebrated in this sixteenth-century house each Saturday morning but is also open to visitors during the week. Throughout the year we enjoy the company of visitors from all over the world but we also have a strong congregation from within the parish itself. If you would like to know more about the life of Saint Wilfrid and the history of Saint Wilfrid's Church, then please pay a visit to our related sites. A brief history of Saint Margaret Clitherow is also available. If you have any further comments or queries, then please e.mail us or write to us at the address above. Thank you for taking the time to visit our home page.
