The BM7 coil

This is our new BM7 coil, it was built with components given to us by Steve Crawshaw. He gave us his transformer which is a 8.5kV 250mA unit and his RSG. Steve and I built the gap a few years back but he never got to use it, so it's had its first try out in the BM7 coil. The RSG is a sync gap and it works great.

The final set up of the BM7 coil, the secondary and the primary came from an older coil and the cap bank is our MMC used on many of our older coils. This is the non current limited 8.5kV 250mA transformer, it's oil filled and is a relic from the cold war, we think it came out of a ROTOR radar station.
This is the sync gap that Steve Crawshaw and I built. Our MMC with 3 boards of caps.
