The cut down pig
|
In order to make life a lot easier we have cut the pole pig down to a more manageable size so now we should be able to move it around. The pig started at 380lbs and now its approx 250lbs. Below are a few pictures of the new pig etc.

One of my mates from work built the new tank for the pig. It's made out of 2mm steel plate. The box section on the ends are for carring handles. |
| This is the core of the pig just prior to being lowered in to the new tank. The use of a block & tackle is an absolute must. | ![]() |

I made these two core supports out of 10mm Actell from RS. They are held inside by two brackets each side of the tank. Then the top plate is bolted down. |
| This shot show the core and the core support plates
in place I used the old secondary terminals from the pig
for all the input & output connections. The tank also
has the oil in it in this stot. The old pig had 12 gallons of oil inside where as the new one only has 5 gallons. |
