Two of the PL's went on a Caving Trip in the
Mendips in early December. The first trip on the Saturday afternoon was down
Tynings Barrow Swallet, where we tried to find a new route around the top
section. The going was quite tough with numerous slippery or awkward climbs
and we were foiled at the top end by a precarious looking pitch off of the
Dragon Chamber. We then tried to establish the link by going around and up
White Dog Passage but had to give up owing to 'equipment malfunction' (Dan's
trousers kept falling down!)
On the Sunday, the two leaders took two
parties from Grove Scouts down Goatchurch Cavern while the two PL's explored
Goatchurch in the morning and Pierre's Pot in the evening.
