- Hello, I live in Australia, but many of my my family do come from Windle. Is it possible
to confirm that Joseph Kershaw married Margaret Gorton on 9 April 1804 at St Joseph's? I
believe that Joseph was christened at St Joseph's, in 1779, also Margaret Gorton
christened 30 Apr 1781 at St Joseph's. I would be most appreciative if someone there could
confirm any details! many thanks, Vicky

- Potentially a good Church website. However Visits counter measures hits not visits. If
the number at present is true the site only gets about 4 visits a year. I pushed the
number up by 10 with browsing round the site. Very few photographs and those are so poor
that they need replacing with some better resolution images. However mini biographies of
priests very interesting. I was disappointed when I went to the Burial records page not to
see a complete list of everyone buried there. Visit my churches

abounding faith of the persecuted and butchered martyrs and their flocks. How humble the
exterior looks - and how beautiful it is inside! An eye-opener for non-Catholics like
myself - and a powerful tool for evangelisation. Thank you for an excellent site.

shrimps bought in Flukebrough Yorkshire on fresh Jamiesons bread. As children if we were

all listed in St Josephs' church Brindle dating back to 1729. I wondered if there are any
grave stones from this time still standing which I could visit? The records continue up
until late 1800s In the name of Westby. I would be grateful for your help, and look

- What a wonderful site I came across it after I found that several HEATLEYs were listed
as Christened in the 1700s at St Josephs RC Church Brindle in the IGI Index This is
the same Church that My G Grand Father James Heatley son of Thomas Heatley Married Ellen
Thompson Daughter of Mark Thompson in 1885 The history of the parish has put a lot leaf on
my family tree If anyone knows of the Heatleys in the 17 & 1800s please get in touch

- What a beautiful community. What an admirable Saint. I live in Blessed Ingleby and
Clitherow neck of the woods. I came to this site and stayed on for two hours. Absolutely
beautiful. Compliments to your webmaster. Deo Gratias.

- Very interesting site, especially as my husband's family is descended from the Batesons
of Brindle. I wonder if there are any present day Batesons still living in the parish.
Trying to trace the family tree, would be pleased to hear from anyone who is interested.
Thanks.

- This site is wonderful I have enjoyed reading every page. I beleive my G-G Grandparents
were married there in 1846 William Southworth and Margaret ? William and Margaret had two
daughters Elizabeth & Jane there before comming to America sometime in the late 1840s,
Williams father George came to the states between 1860 & 1870 his wife and other
family members are beleived to be burried in your graveyard. Is there any way to check the
marriage of William, and the burials of the other Southworth Family Membe

- Mick, on further reading St Joseph's web page, I see Bernard Kellett mentioned in the
scouting report, I assume it is the same Bernard Kellett that was at St Joseph's scholl
when I attended, a long time ago. Paul.

- A lovely site and a surprising find, especially after my brother moved from Higher
Walton after living there for 20 years! How accessible are you historical marriage
records? Trying to track my gg uncle Thomas Henry Parker from Ireland who married
Elizabeth Ellen Davies in Brindle on 24 sept 1864. regards
