PCRL wishes America great change. One of the great Civil Rights anthems "A Change Is Gonna Come" is a 1964 single by R&B singer-songwriter Sam Cooke, written by Cooke and first recorded in 1963 and released under the RCA Victor label shortly after his death in late 1964. Though only a modest hit for Cooke in comparison with his previous singles, the song came to exemplify the sixties' Civil Rights Movement. The song has gained in popularity and critical acclaim in the decades since its release.

The recently departed Andrew Alexander Terry, born July 1940, Texas. His father ran Terry's Records there, but they later moved to Detroit. Mike played baritone sax on many Motown classics including most of the rare Detroit/Chicago Northern soul classics too.

He later concentrated on arranging music. Many of his tracks were made to perfection before the artistes even sang on them. PCRL via Bill Randal made a 60 minute programme about him when he returned to Detroit after a 20 year absence in 1993.  More info:

pcrl's background:-

PCRL had a strong tradition where it's DJ's played honest music that spoke to the heart and the soul. This website was launched in May 2002 as an aid to the radio station's programming but since the station's demise, it has remained as a reminder of what was missing from UK radio today, that's a sense of worth. Our black history calendar brings you up to date for most of the events for this day/month going back nearly 2500 years! it includes musical performers' deaths and births. This includes; blues, jazz, jug-stars, soul, r&b, reggae, rap, soca, gospel, opera, painters, film producers, music producers, sports personalities and civil rights activists. The History pages are now our press cuttings and are being updated regularly. Remember PCRL lives on though YOU the community and although we are no longer on the air we can still speak to the world through this website. If you have something to say then contact us now. Thank you for your interest and we hope you can find some favorite memories of an era lost that was fought for by Cecil Morris & his friends with a freedom of speech and music never achieved previously in the United Kingdom.  The website costs money to run and has no paying adverts. If you would like to make a donation towards it's up-keep - we thank you
