Reggae crooner Sanchez writes some of his own material on his 2002 release Stays on My Mind. In fact, Sanchez has really opened up his repertoire to include classic reggae covers, R&B covers, traditional reggae, and many other new touches. Produced by collaborator Lloyd Campbell, this should appeal to fans of his previous output.
Magnificently overseen by producer Dave Kelly, Yaga Yaga makes no allowances for overseas buyers, and was recorded purely with Jamaican fans in mind. As to be expected, the album picks up a number of recent hit singles, including the cautionary "Gangster Anthem" and the smash "Action," which paired the DJ with the lush tones of Nadine Sutherland. |

Favorite
artists at the moment: Beres Hammond, Sanchez, Beenie
Man and Terror Fabulous.
Beres Hammond is one of reggae's great soul singers though for much of his twenty years he has only been known for the most part in his native Jamaica. Hammond's style harkens back to the Rastafarian sounds of the '70s that center on a strong melody coupled with socially conscious lyrics and intricate harmonies. |
