After studies at the Royal College of Music, Anthony Hose began his career at the Glyndebourne and Wexford festivals before going to the Welsh National Opera where he conducted many opera productions and concerts. Among the operas he has conducted was the world premiere of The Servants by William Mathias, which was televised by HTV. Other operas televised include Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Il Trovatore, The Tales of Hoffmann, and The Marriage of Figaro. He has also produced and conducted two series of opera programmes for HTV, winning a prize in the New York Film Festival. He has worked at the Royal Opera House, Scottish Opera, New Sadler's Wells Opera, Mid-Wales Opera, La Scala Milan, Orlando Opera and opera companies in France, Sweden and Iceland. Orchestras he has conducted include the Berlin Symphony, Budapest Concert Orchestra, Bach Collegium of Munich, the Orlando Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, London Mozart Players, and the English Chamber Orchestra. He is artistic director of the Welsh Chamber Orchestra and of the Mount Dora Festival of Music and Literature in Florida. He is currently orchestra director at Stetson University in Central Florida.
