My interest in photography began over 35 years ago with subjects as wide ranging as landscape, sport and rock concerts. In the early 1990's I took up scuba diving and shortly afterwards invested in my first underwater housing to allow me to capture the beauty beneath the waves..

As with most photographers the digital revolution caught up with me and I moved on from film cameras to using digital, currently Nikon D300s.

I use a range of lenses for land work from the wide angle 12-24mm to a 70 -300mm telephoto zoom. While for underwater work I use either wide angle or macro lenses

Underwater I use the camera in a Subal housing with a couple of Inon Z240 flashguns to help restore colours that are lost at depth. The majority of underwater shots require the use of flash but in shallow water I like to use ambient light wherever possible to take my photos..

I enjoy submitting articles and images (both land and underwater) to magazines and competitions and have had a number of successes in both, for example being featured a few times in the Underwater Photography magazine and having won pizes ranging from cameras to a weekend in the Glenmorangie Hotel.
