Mykita was formed in 1977 by its founders Michael King & Anita Cottrill, (Having being employed in another dance school for 7 years previously) they were the undefeated North of England Professional Latin American Champions and British Grand Finalists.(Anita left Mykita in 1993).

The first studio was in Mill St, Macclesfield, over the top of the then Burton's Building until 1990 when we transferred to our present premises. We understand this is first purpose built dance school to be built in this country for some 40 years.

Over the years Mykita has been responsible for the training of many top quality competition dancers, but its main aim is to provide a social activity for people who wish to dance for enjoyment.and to meet new friends.

All our dance classes are designed to cover all styles of popular dances including:

Ballroom, Latin and a certain amount of Modern Sequence. Once some of these have been learned then the time has come to practice.

MYKITA hold regular Saturday Night Dances, you will never see these advertised outside the school as they are always well patronised by its members, many of these dances have a feature on them i.e. Dance Demonstrations.

The premises is available for Weddings, 21sts, Anniversaries, Business Meetings and Private Functions of all kinds.

You need never "fall behind" in your class work as very often there is more than one class of a similar standard, or a personal lesson may be close at hand (or foot).
