Eighty Oak Wood (foot of Gravel Hill)

This was planted to commemorate the 90th birthday of the Queen Mother. The Society obtained donations from local firms and the Borough provided the land. The trees were planted by the Borough and most survived the 1987 hurricane. A second plaque was added to the commemoration stone in 2003 to mark the Queen Mother's ninetieth birthday and more trees have been planted accordingly.
