On this page you will find links to many of the places I have mentioned elsewhere on this site. I will also include links to any family history / genealogy web sites that I have found useful or value for money.

rootschatlogoThis has to be the first site I mention here. Rootschat is a message board forum where you can ask questions and receive answers almost immediately. You can also have a laugh and a joke there, discuss just about anything on their ‘Totally Off Topic’ board (you do need to join the site to access this board). This is a free site but is run to a very high standard by the volunteer moderators (who keep everyone in check but are not heavy handed with it)

FreeBMDFreeBMD, as the name suggests, is a site that has access to free Birth, Marriage & Death records for England & Wales. The records are not 100% complete and they are always looking for volunteers to transcribe the data. I have been a volunteer transcriber for a few months and feel it is a way to give something back for all the information I have received from this site.

familysearchAnother site that gives access to a wide selection of Birth, Marriage & Death records, for the UK and overseas. The site is also home to the IGI (International Genealogical Index) and holds many records from Parish records, etc. before compulsory registration began.

Newport PagnellNewport Pagnell is the town I grew up in and has many historical features. Click on the name to the left to go to the Newport Pagnell Historical Society web site to learn more about the town. The site shows many of the important buildings in the town’s history (including the only Iron Bridge still in daily use).
