Summer Exhibition 2009 at Newbury Town Hall

Opening hours : 10:00am-5:00pm, Sun 10:00am-4:00pm

We normally hold exhibitions spring and autumn.

All members can exhibit original works of art at these shows.

Work for sale: A small commission is taken by the Art Group. Or you can choose to exhibit not-for-sale work for an extra hanging fee.

There is no charge to visitors to the exhibitions who are welcome to enjoy the exhibition with no obligation to buy.

Open Studios 2009: “Water”

Newbury Art Group presents a selection of their work in a variety of media under this theme at the West Berkshire Community Hospital in The Gallery Café between 2^nd May and 24^th July 2009.

The paintings will include marine subjects, waterways, weather, sports and leisure.

This exhibition will be curated by the renowned local artist Christopher Hall.  We are thankful to him for helping us choosing three different monthly displays.

The group exhibits here throughout the year and donations go to Hospital Charities.

West Berkshire Community Hospital

Newbury Art Group maintains a permanent show in the Gallery Café and in the Outpatients Reception most of the year.  There is a fee of £2 per picture to exhibit and, if sold, 5% of the sale price is given as a donation to the Friends of the Hospital charity. Newbury Art Group also makes a regular donation to the charity.

The exhibition gets changed every two months (normally on a Friday) and it is open to all members. If you wish to exhibit, please contact Melanie Davies to book a place.

Open Studios 2008: “Townlands and Downlands”

Newbury Art Group are presenting a selection of their work in a variety of media under this theme at the Royal Berkshire Hospital Café between May and July 2008.

The paintings are based on observations of Newbury, its villages and countryside. Some of the paintings on show have been developed from sketches done at one of the group’s organised outdoor painting days.

This exhibition has been curated by the renowned local artist Bob Brown. We are thankful to him for helping us choose a harmonious set of quality paintings.
