Open Studios 2008: “Townlands and Downlands”

Newbury Art Group are presenting a selection of their work in a variety of media under this theme at the Royal Berkshire Hospital Café between May and July 2008.

The paintings are based on observations of Newbury, its villages and countryside. Some of the paintings on show have been developed from sketches done at one of the group’s organised outdoor painting days.

This exhibition has been curated by the renowned local artist Bob Brown. We are thankful to him for helping us choose a harmonious set of quality paintings.

Winter Exhibition 2007 at Newbury Town Hall

Dates: 21^st to 25^th November 2007

Opening hours: 10:00am-5:00pm, Sun 10:00am-4:00pm

Preview evening: 20^th November 7:30 -9:00 pm

Receiving day: 19^th November 9am-12.00 noon

Collection of unsold pictures: 25^th November 4:15-6:00pm

We normally hold exhibitions spring and autumn

All members can exhibit original works of art at these shows.  

Work for sale: A small commission is taken by the Art Group. 

Or you can choose to exhibit not-for-sale work for an extra hanging fee.

There is no charge to visitors to the exhibitions who are welcome to enjoy the exhibition with no obligation to buy.

West Berkshire Community Hospital

The Newbury Art Group maintains a semi-permanent show at this local community venue.  There is a fee of £2 per picture to exhibit and if sold 5% of the sale price is given as a donation to the Friends of the Hospital charity.

The exhibition gets changed every two months (normally on a Friday) and it is open to all members. If you wish to exhibit, please contact Kathy Kavanagh or Melanie Davies to book a place.
