Nestling in Northamptonshire's green and pleasant countryside, two miles to the south of Daventry, is the parish and village of Newnham.

This picturesque village has a variety of  house styles, approaching 250 in number, to suit most tastes, and is a popular yet sedate location to live.

It's services include a primary school, 'The Romer Arms' Public House and Restaurant, and The Village Hall.

Villagers can make the short journey to the neighbouring market town of Daventry where there are senior schools, leisure facilities, shops and services.

On Tuesdays and Fridays in The High Street, there is a market with covered stalls, and on the first Saturday of each month there is a Farmers Market.

This site is designed to provide information for parishioners and also offer a contact point or forum for matters of interest and concern.

We are happy to include any village or parish related photographs or news items which you may send via e-mail.

If you are a first time visitor to this site or you are returning, your comments would be appreciated.

Enjoy this site and our parish.

Towcester Court Open Day

On June the 26th Towcester Justices and the Emergency Service are getting together to give local people a genuine insight into how the local Criminal Justice System and Emergency Services deal with a serious road traffic accident. They will see at first hand what really happens on their behalf, week by week in the immediate locality.

At 10:30 in front of Towcester fire station the Emergency Services will attend a mock incident which involves a badly crashed car. Occupants of the car will be cut out by the Fire Brigade, the injured treated and the Police investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash. Those investigations reveal that it appears that the law has been broken by the driver. Members of the public are invited to sit-in on the resulting Court Appearance and sentencing of the driver at 11:15am in the Court House. Both elements of this scenario will be repeated at 1:30pm and 2:15 respectively. There will also be the opportunity to learn more about a number of other Agencies, such as the Crown Prosecution Service, Probation, as well as the Police, Fire & Rescue, Ambulance and the Magistracy. Throughout the day representatives of those organisations will be on hand to talk with, demonstrate to, answer questions, whatever individuals might want to explore.

In addition why not take the opportunity to experience what it’s like to occupy a cell, or you may prefer to be breathalysed, have your fingerprints taken, sit in a prison van, maybe a fire engine or examine a police car.
