The Newnham Village Hall Lottery / 200 club

The Newnham Village Hall lottery, known as the 200 club has been running for over 30 years. Proceeds go to the upkeep, fabrics, and furnishings of the Village Hall itself. The Hall has had a disabled toilet facility added and this year the exterior paintwork has been given a facelift. It will soon require several thousands of pounds spending on the renovation and damp proofing of the committee room. In order for the Hall to remain a valuable asset to the village for the future, more money is required. The 200 club is a regular contributor to the funds required.

There are 200 numbers in the draw, which takes place every Friday night in the Romer Arms Public House. The prizes vary from £15 to £100. There are 39 weekly prizes of £15, 11 monthly prizes of £50, 1 half-yearly £100 prize and 3 x £100 prizes drawn at the Christmas party.
The Hall benefits most when all 200 numbers have an owner, and at the moment there are spare numbers. If you are interested in supporting this very worthy village cause, the cost of a number is £13 per year that is only 25p a week. There are several collectors in the village who would be willing to add you to their book. The only thing we ask you to do is to make sure that you pay for your number ahead of the draw, the same as you would in the National lottery.
If you are interested please contact the treasurer at 18 Bradbury Road, who will allocate a number to you.
As a thank you to all those who support the 200 club the committee holds a Chistmas party with free beer, wine and food, and a fantastic raffle of prizes donated by supporters of the Hall. The evening is always a relaxing, sociable event spent chatting to neighbours and friends.
It's not too late to join in and even stand the chance of winning £100 on the night if you buy a number now.
