Offering funded places to three and four year olds.
The nursery dept takes children from three years until four plus. Our
nursery offers a warm lively environment. The children visit other classrooms
during the day, a large activity room, quiet room, music corner
and art room. The emphasis is on a stimulating environment with a speedy start to
reading, writing and number. We have our own, very successful ‘Action
Reading’ scheme and the children
progress rapidly. At three they have French, in the form of conversation and
songs. They have computer time. Children are encouraged to dismantle, design and
construct and also develop a love of science overseen by our qualified teacher.
Aged three years to four, the maximum is eight children per class and is run by experienced and
qualified nursery nurse and art assistant. There is a road safety program.
DAY
TIMES.
The school day runs from 9.00 a.m. (Doors open 8.30 a.m.) until 12.00
(1.00 p.m. if a lunch is requested). An afternoon session is offered from 12.00
or 1.00 p.m. until 3.30 p.m. (later by arrangement).
UNIFORM.
Three year olds do not have to wear formal uniform, although their size
is available.
ART.
By far the best coverall for a child’s clothes is an old shirt and if
they bring one into school it can be kept in the art room.
DINNER.
If a lunch is required then a packed lunch may be brought.
CONCERTS.
All nursery children will be encouraged to take part in our school
concerts.
DANCE.
There
will be a weekly dance session during school time for nursery children.
SWIMMING.
Children
aged 4 years and over go swimming on Tuesdays. Your child will need arm bands, unless
he/she swims.
Should you wish to visit the nursery, Tel; 01273 737834
