Gary Cole

Gary Cole played Sheriff Lucas Buck in American Gothic. A very dual man, some inhabitants of Buck's townthought he was a hero, others thought he was evil personified. Whichever he is deep down, if he ever does anyone a favour, he always expects his payback - eventually!

Born in Park Ridge, Illinois, on September 20th, Gary Cole first started acting in high school. He followed this by going on to study at Illinois State University.

After moving to Chicago to become a professional actor, Gary co-founded the Remains Theatre Ensemble, and became a member of the renowned Steppenwolf Theatre. Gary has, throughout his career, continued to make many appearances on the stage, both in Chicago, and New York.

Gary first hit the TV screens in Heart of Steel in 1983. His first major role followed the next year - playing murderer Jeffrey MacDonald in Fatal Vision. Gary is probably most famous for the TV series Midnight Caller, where he played the title character - radio host Jack Killian. Although appearing in numerous TV movies and feature films, notably The Brady Bunch Movie, his only major TV series role since then has been as Lucas Buck in American Gothic. Gary has also just filmed the first series of 'Crusade' - a spin-off from 'Babylon 5', in which he will plays the leading role - Captain Gideon.

It is impossible to say which area Gary specialises in - he has appeared in a huge variety of roles - villainous, moral, dramatic, comedic, changing his appearance, almost beyond recognition, to suit each role.

Gary lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Teddi Siddall, and their daughter.
