View of Caravan 3

Enjoy the peace and beauty of Cairnmuir's private grounds amidst beautiful scenery on the bank of the River Shin, a salmon river near Lairg, Sutherland. Cairnmuir is situated just four miles from the Shin Falls, a famous beauty spot where visitors from all over the world come to watch the salmon make their prodigious leap up the waterfall en route to their spawning beds. There is also a visitor centre here with restaurant, shop, adventure playground and nature trails.

Lairg is an important rural centre, being home to the UK's largest one-day sheep sale. It is also archaeologically significant in the Highlands. The story of the area's prehistoric people and their role in shaping the landscape is told at the Ferrycroft Countryside Centre. The Ord Archaeological Trail takes you to some of the best prehistoric sites including chambered cairns dating from around 3000 BC.

Photo Riverside offers an ideal location for touring, walking, pony trekking, bird watching or simply relaxing. Fishing and boating are available at Loch Shin and there are five excellent golf courses within a 20 mile radius. This photos shows the River Shin from the grounds. Deer can be seen in the woods beyond the river.

Its location makes it an ideal base for exploring the Northern Highlands. John O'Groats, the northernmost point of the mainland, is reachable by road in about three hours, and there are many interesting towns and visitor attractions along the way.

Each of the four modern caravans is sited to offer maximum privacy with views of the river. Accommodation in each comprises one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, fitted kitchen, shower, W.C., lounge and dining area. The dining area converts easily to an additional double and single bed.
