The UK publishing industry is in a dreadful mess and the last thing anybody should do right now is set up a new, small publishing house. So that's what we have done.
We can't help ourselves, you see. We think some writing deserves to see the light of day. We think it should be rescued from the undignified slush piles of the major publishing houses and the established literary agencies, and thrust upon an unsuspecting public.
We can't do it cheaply because we are a small press, we can't sell books through supermarkets or through retailing giants of the high street because we are a small press, we can't make oodles of pounds because we are a small press... but we can publish intelligent books for intelligent readers.
It's that simple!
