	Selby Abbey The Crescent Selby Tel 01757 703123 The Abbey was granted its founding charter by William the Conqueror and has connections with France, Germany and the USA. Beverly Minster It was founded early in the 8th century, although damage caused during the Viking invasions and the Norman Conquest means that the present building only dates back to 1220. Today, it’s one of the finest examples of a Gothic church of cathedral size in Europe.
	Rievaulx Abbey Near Helmsley Tel 01439 798228 Enjoy the spectacular remains of the first Cistercian monastery in northern England. Imaginations will be fired when exploring the extensive remains.
Hemingbrough Minster Main Street, Hemingbrough This church is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, its spire rises to an height of approximately 190' and can be seen from miles around in the vale of York.
