Sifu Bob Stannells

History

Master Bob Stannells started his training in the early seventies in the White Crane system taught by Sifu Wong Seng Lung in London's China Town. Following 6 years of dedicated training in The White Crane forms, fighting sets, traditional weapons and Chi Kung (breath energy) he gained his Masters grade and was given his teachers blessing to teach the White Crane style.

Some years later Master Stannells set out eager to learn Chinese Lion dance; a tradition that goes hand in hand with traditional Kung Fu. He eventually met Sifu Leung Kai Chi of the Jow Gar Kung Fu and Lion dance gymnasium. Sifu Leung agreed to teach Master Stannells the Lion dance only as long as he also studied the Jow Gar system, which took a further 4 years. Now Sifu Stannells had the best of 2 very effective systems the speed, evasiveness and flexibility of the Northern White Crane system and the power, co-ordination and physical conditioning of Southern Jow Gar (Tiger and Leopard style).

With over 30 years of training Sifu Stannells has trained and exchanged knowledge with many other well-known masters of Chinese Martial Arts from around the world. This has made him one of Europe's Leading experts in the Shaolin arts.
