TO THE HOME OF NISHALKA ABYSSINIANS
The Abyssinian is one of the oldest breeds of cat, famous for its ticked coat
and the belief that it could be a direct descendant of the sacred cat of the
ancient Egyptians. Compare it with bronze statuettes of the cat goddess
Bastet and you will see a striking resemblance.
An Abyssinian is intelligent, gentle and affectionate. Also fearless, active and playful. It has a ticked coat, each coat hair has two or three bands of each colour.
We breed quality kittens in four Abyssinian colours - Usual, Sorrel, Blue and Fawn.

The two kittens on the left are Usual Abyssinians - Usual relates to the original colour of the Aby - a rich golden brown ticked with black. The tummy and base colour is a ruddy orange.
The third and fifth kittens are Sorrel. A lustrous copper colour ticked with chocolate. The tummy and base coat is apricot.
The fourth kitten is a Blue. The coat is a soft, warm blue, ticked with deeper steel blue. The tummy and base coat is a pinky mushroom.
The Fawn Aby is a warm powdery fawn ticked with a deeper shade. The tummy and base colour is of creamy fawn.
