Our Cats

All our cats are much loved pets and  have the run of our house.

We welcomed the return of Beardwood Bruno in 2002. He spent the 4 years from 1998 to late 2002 as a stud cat with Sandra Scott (Belujondra), who has now given up breeding. Bruno assisted  Oscar from time to time. Bruno is the litter brother of Ch. & Gr. Pr. Beardwood Thomas Omalley and is also the elder brother of Gr. Ch. & Gr.Pr. Beardwood Robby Willyams. Bruno had not been shown as an adult whilst living with Sandra. He was Best SLH Kitten in Show at Wyvern 1998 at his last show as a kitten. Bruno made up for lost time after he came back here and became a Champion in three consecutive  shows. He did not attend many shows in the latter part of 2003 but was awarded  2 Grand Challenge certificates and a number of Reserve Grand Challenge Certificates in 2004 and finally became a Grand Champion in May 2005. He has now been neutered and we hope he will be able to spend more time in the house with the other cats.

Several of our girls are now retired but enjoy baby-sitting for the younger queens.

We have also a stray part-Persian black cat called Sootica who was living "rough" in our garden. We had her scanned and managed to contact her previous owners but as they no longer wanted her we decided to keep her. She was health checked by our vet, blood tested and  had a full course of inoculations. Eventually the cold weather persuaded her to spend the nights in the house. She is not the slightest bit bothered by all the other house cats and they have accepted her without a murmur of protest. She is obviously an honorary Maine Coon and has now been with us for five years!

In August 2005, Ch Beardwood Celeste produced a small litter, sired by Ch. Brocstar Kincaid and we have kept the tortie tabby girl and called her Beardwood Impunity Jane - don't ask. (Janie for short). She has a wonderful nature as well as being beautifully marked and gives indications of becoming a big girl. It is fortunate that we kept Janie since Celeste has now had to be neutered.

Please note that we have now attached the pedigrees of our entire cats to this page. Please see below the details and photographs of our queens.
