Oakley produces 'Fairground Strollers and Showfolk' - an historical account of early Fairground history, with more than 160 photographs from the 1800s onwards. Fairground Strollers is £19.95 each plus £2.50 postage, and provides an authentic history of Fairground families back to the 1800s.
FAIRFIELD FOLK, the companion book, tells the story of the mother's side of the family, but is currently OUT OF PRINT and remains a collectors item.
Fairground Strollers is illustrated with hundreds of original photographs, and tell of tightrope walking over Niagara Falls, the original Chewbacca and daring feats by amazing fairground artistes - including Pimpo (Johnny Freeman) who has been named as Circus Performer of the Century by the Worlds Fair organisation.
