New members and visitors always welcome!

Welcome to our website, do stay and browse.

We are a group of about 30 amateur radio enthusiasts. We meet twice monthly at a private social club about one and a half miles north of Oxford City centre, (Please see a map of our location on the "Links" page --No.16).      If you are a visiting amateur or short wave listener, or just have an interest in learning more about this interesting hobby, you will be made most welcome at our meetings.

The majority of our members are licensed amateurs, meetings provide the opportunity to interact socially and to exchange ideas and information over a drink in a pleasant environment.   Usually once per month we try to arrange a special evening where a club member or visitor will give a talk/presentation on a topic of interest to members.   During the year we organise social events, and twice a year we take part in competitions that require us to operate a radio station for 24 hours, in the field, under canvas.

Below are photographs taken at one of our field days, showing our multi-band beam antenna, 60ft trailer tower, the field day operating position and one of our licensed junior operators at work.

Many of our members are active and enthusiastic operators, some look for long distance contacts on the amateur bands, others look for contest activity, whilst others look for local "rag chews" and perhaps prefer to concentrate on construction projects.
