our president

The Society's President for 2009/2010 is Iain Wallis

Iain Wallis

Iain Wallis 1988-95

Iain (as can be seen above) is still an active player with the OLRFC - the first president to be so since Kevin Cossar (the year Iain did his A-levels). Unlike Kevin though, Iain is a pretty handy player, and is still a key member of the first XV - he can often be seen taking to Fenley Field in the company of his younger siblings Ted (skulking in the background of the picture above) and Dave. As we approach the end of the '08/09 season Iain is vying for the honour of top try-scorer for the club this season with just a couple of games to go.

Iain became an OLRFC player before he even became an OL - playing for the very successful Colts side of the mid-nineties - has played for the club ever since, and became a member of the Society committee a couple of years ago. Some say he doesn't need the maroon, green and gold shirt - he's that colour anyway.

Iain became a father just over a week before being installed as President at the 2009 AGM, when his daughter Constance emerged into the world - our warmest congratulations go to Iain and Lorrie.
