So whats an antweight, good question. There are basically 2 rules:
1) 150g for normal ant and 225g for walker
2) fits in a 4" cube
It's easier than it sounds and there are a few more rules. To drive the ant normally two modified servos are used, as for how to mofidy them:How to make an antweight motor form a normal servo.
As of 9/10/01 my ants are:
| ODYSSEY | Ant with lifter weapon |
| DOZER | Pusher ant with no weapon |
| TYPE-0 | Walker |
| ANTEATER | Advanced prototype |
Some people might ask how this started, well years ago I was looking at the other Robot Wars web pages, as you do and came across Adam's Toecutter page and decided that he couldn't play with himself (sorry for the phrasing), so I decided to build an antweight robot. Adam was inspired by the Ants at MIT, Pixel and Pocketbot. A good start is to look at the CETO sold by WES products that include 2.7g servos and 4.2g nano receivers.
The first ants I built were Argo and Odyssey which were involved in the first world series. However before this I carried out a few tests to see what they could do.
