Dr John Cox is a consultant
chemical engineer and economist with over thirty years
experience working with the process industries. He is a
Fellow and a Registered Safety Professional of the
Institution of Chemical Engineers, and a member of the
British Academy of Experts and the FIDIC Panel of
Arbitrators.
Prior to establishing his own Practice in 1968, he had worked as a chemical engineer for an operating company, as a process engineer for a contractor and as a senior consultant for an associated practice of consulting engineers. He has served on British Standards committees, and on the editorial boards of the Transactions and the Environmental Protection Bulletin (both published by the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers) and has presented papers at several IChemE symposia. More recently, he has been responsible for the restructuring and design of undergraduate courses on Safety & Loss Prevention, Business Principles and Computer-aided Design in the Chemical Engineering Department of Swansea University. John continues to give training lectures on Safety & Loss Prevention, and has special expertise in the following areas:
