The Doctors

Dr Alison Eaton

Alison was born in Edinburgh and graduated from Aberdeen in 1985.  She moved to the North East in 1986 and trained as a GP in Cleveland.  She worked in Stockton and Middlesbrough before joining this Practice in 1990.  Alison has also become a Fellow by Assessment of the Royal College of General Practitioners and obtained the Diploma in Diabetes Care in 2004.  She is the lead GP for medical student teaching within the Practice.  She likes reading, dancing, swimming and has 2 children.

Dr Patrick Mc Gowan

An Irish-American, Patrick graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in 1985.  While training to become a GP, he worked in Teesside, Manchester, Lancashire, South Wales and Australia.  He joined the Practice in 1991.  He has been a GP Trainer in the Practice since August 2001 and has interests in minor surgery, child health and computers.  He gained the Diploma in Advanced General Practice at NewcastleUniversity in 1998.  Patrick is a keen hill walker and enjoys a good book.

Dr Rachel Roberts

Rachel joined the Practice in August 1999, having trained in our Practice on the Cleveland Vocational Training Scheme.  She has just passed her MRCGP with a merit grade, was awarded the Ruth Dunlop award for GP Trainee of the year on the Cleveland GP Training Scheme and obtained the RCGP Certificate in Drug Addiction Treatment in 2002.  She is an active member of the Cleveland Local Medical Committee.

Dr Iyad Al Mashharawi

Iyad is originally from Palestine, having trained in India and UK. After graduating from India, Iyad came to work in the UK  in 1999 and has worked in James Cook University Hospital, Friarage Hospital and the Blackpool Victoria Hospital.  Following completion of his GP training in August 2005 in Lancashire, Iyad worked as a salaried GP for 2 years which included a year with Grange House Surgery, where he then became a GP partner in September in 2007.   His medical interests include Respiratory Diseases and Skin Diseases.  Iyad is married and has one child.  He enjoys the outdoors, cycling and he most recent interests is Formula One sports.

Additional Staff
