Any Charlton related story: During our season in Div 3 in 1980/81 travelled up to the Valley from Exeter with the Exeter City Fans and aroused suspicion when I had to direct the coach driver to the ground. On journey back had to stop smiling all the way home. We won 1-0. (I think Paul Walsh scored our goal).

Addition by Bob- John undertook exactly the same journey on the 4th Jan 03 for the FA Cup game, unfortunately his allegiance was revealed to his Exeter supporting coach mates at the Fleet service station by Lester Trask…. We trust he completed his journey and got home safely !
