Any Charlton related story - Occasion when Eddie Firmani as a thankyou to my companies groundsman/clubhouse manager (with wife’s assistance) gave him a season ticket to the enclosure ( remember it in front of the corrugated stand) for giving some 4/5 weekdays assistance ( mornings only) restoring the Valley pitch to its normal self. Eddie obviously did not appreciate the groundsmans busiest time, he only used it himself once !
