Lacewing - beautiful, graceful, gentle

This beautiful 12 year old mare was a surprise addition to the stud in 2004 and was a superb old-fashioned stamp of mare. She is by the lovely old stallion Granby Moth (by Revel Savoury and out of Granby Prudence) who is line bred, like Lace, to the great Coed Coch Madog. Including all the old greats in her pedigree (e.g. Coed Coch Madog, Coed Coch Glyndwr, Clan Pip, Bleddfa Shooting Star, Revolt, Grove Sprightly), she is descended from some of the best of Coed Coch, Revel and Criban so it is hardly surprising that she is a really old-fashioned type! Despite not being a well-known prefix, Lace has all the attributes we look for in a welsh pony - a lovely straight mover, fantastic conformation, substance and a wonderful temperament - and we are thrilled that she has joined the stud. Granby Tom Thumb, maternal brother to her sire Granby Moth, is in the USA and still siring quality foals despite being in his late twenties! Unfortunately I was devastated to lose Lace in 2005 but was lucky that she had a beautiful filly foal who has been retained.
