Thinking of buying a Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Welcome to Corgwood Corgis, a small kennel that has been committed to breeding quality Pembroke Welsh Corgis for over twenty years.

Canadian Ch. Corgwood Knowing - Charlotte
To own a Pembroke Welsh Corgi is to own a dog of full of character, although a Corgi looks a small dog in actual fact they are a medium sized dog on short legs. They are an active, alert and sociable breed who are honest, plucky, intelligent and at times comical, equally at home working, showing, playing or just as a couch companions. They love being where the action is and will play rough and tumble games with children, or can simply be a companion for an elderly person. The Corgi learns quickly and as long as he knows what is expected of him he will oblige.

However, if left to his own devices he will get up to mischief - chewing something he shouldn’t. He is a good house dog and will bark furiously at the door bell. Excessive barking should not be encouraged. Treat him with respect and you will have a life long loyal friend.

UK Ch. Corgwood Kouros - Ben
Your Corgi will need feeding and training every day, therefore it will somebody’s responsibility to see that this is undertaken. The Corgi has a coat that moults continuously, and therefore has to be groomed and brushed regularly to keep their beautiful appearance. There are a number of books available from most libraries on ‘How to care for your Corgi’. Corgis have an average life span of between 10-15 years of age. Our aim at Corgwood is to produce sound, healthy outgoing Corgis who have superb temperaments, good looks, and are a pleasure to own.

We only breed occasionally, mainly for ourselves for the showring, obviously many of our puppies go to homes where they become super family companions. We know where every single puppy we have ever bred is and always keep in touch with the present owners. We receive cards, photographs and letters from our Corgi buyers and are always willing to give help and advice wherever possible. It is our policy to have any Corgi we have bred back at any time, should their owners be unable or unwilling to keep them for any reason. The minimum age for sale of transfer of our puppies to their new homes is eight (8) weeks. A pedigree, diet sheet, worming, KC registration form and an information sheet is given to every new owner.

Our puppies have been checked over by a veterinarian and have been given a clean bill of health and they have been regularly wormed.

A Corgwood Corgi is a happy, good-looking Corgi who is extremely loving and full of fun!
