I spent a portion of my young life at tansley. My family moved into the ex army huts at the bottom of the Coach road , as squatters in the late 1940s, eventually the council started charging rates and provided amenities . for us and other families living in the nissan huts. We had a stream some 10 yards from our front door which contained fish which we used to catch by "tickling " tyhem with our hands. My grandad also lived in one of the smaller huts. He seemed to survive by collecting mushrooms, bilberry,
