OLDWAY MANSION
The magnificent legacy of
Paignton's most colourful family - the Singers of sewing
machine fame. Inspired by French and Italian architecture,
the grand marble staircase and the gallery modelled on the
Hall of Mirrors at Versailles is a must see. Beautiful gardens
surround the Mansion, formal gardens to the South of the
house and the Italian Style garden, located to the east.
There is also a less formal garden, featuring a grotto,
two ponds, a waterall and a wide range of subtropical plants.

BABBACOMBE
CLIFF RAILWAY
Babbacombe Cliff Railway
has been operating since 1926. Following refurbishment after
the war the cliff railway was re-opened in the early 1950's.
Now more than 250,000 passengers are carried safely each
season to enjoy the delights of Oddicombe Beach and the
access to coastal walks in both the Petitor and Babbacombe
directions.

PAIGNTON PIER
The pier comprises of an
entrance building at the shoreward end along with what looks
to be several individual pavilion buildings connected along
the neck. These in fact form one single amusement arcade
through their entire length. At the pier-head there is now
an open amusement area containing karts, slides and carousal.
