Transport

Water Buses are the commonest form of Venetian transport. These day to day workhorses shuttle up and down the main canals, and a "3-day bus pass" gives the freedom to jump on and off, even just to cross to the other side of the canal.

Just like anywhere else, Venice has its taxis and they're the speedy way for the well heeled to get about. Costing the best part of £50 to hire for any appreciable distance, they're a lot less affordable than the humble water bus.

And of course, and strictly for the tourists, not forgetting the gondola!
