Kappernicus are a highly skilled, young 3 piece band based around Durham. Everything we play is original and is a fusion of explosive Funk-Rock and chilled out Blues. We have been playing around the area for a few months now and have built a substantial fan base of both the young and the old. Our first e.p has been recorded and will be available at any of our gigs.
We are eagerly looking for more gigs in the local area and also further afield. Please contact us if you are a band looking for support or a venue looking for an exciting band to headline in their own right. For details of up and coming gigs, please check our website.

Coastal Dune are a poppy rocky band also with a leaning towards dance in using break beats. They all are Durham Uni graduates and started off as a 3-piece band in 1998, growing to a 6-piece band in 1999. They started off playing in college bars and balls and the music has now taken them much father afield, including America and Hungary. They are now set to take on the rest of the world!
The band lived, worked and
rehearsed in Ushaw Moor for the year after they graduated, leaving
in the summer of 2001, the first year of their
professional career!
They have had many rave reviews, for e.g. "Durham's finest release their third EP, and boy, are they turning into one groovy band! ...on one hand they write strong pop, they also love to go off on a limb and make interesting music. Coastal Dune are a special band and they're going places." (Mike Rimmer, Cross Rhythms Magazine)
They have self-produced three CDs, TheEP, If and When, and a single entitled Till We're Old. More samples of their music can be found on their website in addition to regular news updates, gig info and further information about the band.

"Good morning" is a guitar-fuelled, grief-tinged stormer about the loss of someone close. It is taken from their successful second EP If and When.
"Contagious" is perhaps the most infectious bouncy groove that you'll ever hear! Written by the band's keyboardist, it shows Coastal Dune in a funkier light.
"Jump In" is another frantic tune from the 'dune.
