These Beast of Barnsley pictures were done for the Barnsley
Chronicle. The newsroom had recieved reports from various people that
a lion had been seen wandering loose in the area. They ran a short
article on the sightings that week, then a lady telephoned to say it
wasn`t a lion but her dog Rocky who suffered with eczema. I was
dispatched with a journalist and off we went to get the pictures and
story, meanwhile the story was offered to The Sun who turned
it down. After the Friday edition the photographs were syndicated by
a local Picture agency, a number of National newspapers., including
The Daily Star, Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph and of course The
Sun
