Member of the Internet Link Exchange
Many airmen stayed on base and complained that there was nothing to do. They went to the Galaxy club, or maybe the Bird in Hand. I felt lucky to have been posted in England, and preferred to leave the base and enjoy the country as much as possible.
I settled down in Ohio after I got out of the Air Force. My wife has told me several times that she would like to vacation in England. In addition to all of the regular tourist stuff, we would like to visit Mildenhall so I can show her where I spent two truly wonderful and exciting years of my life.
