4. President’s report

Thanks were expressed to the organisers of the Party in the Park who again excelled in their efforts. Karen Lawley and Ian Brown’s excellent singing contributions were also commented upon. The circa £8K raised was a fantastic effort.

The Mother’s day gifts were particularly well organised and thanks were expressed to the organisers for their many hours spent wrapping etc.

Thanks were passed on to the organisers of “Mark’s Magic Kingdom” show to be held later on the 22nd March.

5. Chair’s report

Thanks were again passed on to Nikki Allison and her team of helpers for the Party at the Park. Karen Lawley’s and Ian Brown’s singing alone saved circa £600 in entertainer’s fees and other contributors to the entertainment included Richard Beevers and Keith R. It was particularly good to see as many as six tables taken up by reception parents.

Thanks were passed on (again) to the team running the Mother’s Day Gifts. It was noted that not all the school’s parents approve of these sorts of events. One aspect of this particular event that may have been overlooked is that it was never put on primarily as a money making event, rather an optional event that a school with a vibrant PTA ought to do. Sue Whyld had already briefed her staff about the sensitivities of children who may not be able to buy their mother’s a gift and too felt it went well

6. Treasurer’s report

Revenues received from the Party in the Park presently stand at about £4K. The revenues yet to be collected will fall into the 2005/6 accounts.
