7. President’s Report
Sue expressed her thanks to the PTA for their contribution to the
school over the last year. The PTA is seen as a way of investing in the
children’s best interest and a way of seeing another side to the school and its
staff. With budgets still tight, 95% of its income is salaries, the PTA’s
activities are greatly valued by the school’s staff.
Sue praised Julie Hayes for her own special contribution as the PTA
Chair having stepped in when the PTA may well have simply finished. Through her
own special endeavours (Julie) had acted as a catalyst for change, had to
endure quite a few set backs, but had provided the school with a much
appreciated and well organised group of volunteers.
8. Election of officers
Joint Chair Suzanne Leeder, Karen Lawley
and Bridgette Charlton (more of a sofa
than a Chair!)
Treasurer Caroline
Young will fill in until a permanent Treasurer is found.
Secretary Paul McCracken
9 AOB
Flowers were presented to the outgoing committee members who were not
standing for re-election.
A presentation was made to Julie thanking her for her sterling work
over her time in office. A collection raised to mark her resigning the Chair
was used to buy her flowers, a photo album, a necklace, earrings and bracelet. Samantha
Wright also made a (quite spectacular) cake to mark her term in office.
