You can help the Great Western Society repatriate 4079 Pendennis Castle by making a contribution to the Society. Below is an extract
from a letter recently sent by Richard Croucher, Deputy Chairman GWS, to all members of the Society: "The immediate task, however, is to bring her back from Australia. In return for the gift of the locomotive,
the Society has pledged to raise money for the shipping, and ultimately, the restoration of 4079 to full running
order. We are hoping to bring Pendennis Castle back in time for the Didcot Steam 2000 event at the end of May
to be reunited with her old rival Flying Scotsman, which means she will have to start her journey in early March.
We therefore need to have the estimated £80,000 shipping cost in place by the end of February and a Repatriation
Fund has been launched for this purpose."
