Didcot Railway Centre

The Didcot Railway Centre, heart of the Great Western Society has created an open-air living museum of all things "Great Western". It has been in existence for over 30 years, and with it's unique collection of GWR locomotives, carriages, wagons and station buildings complements the Swindon Railway Museum which marks the importance of the once world famous railway works.

The centre covers the life of the GWR through it's entire 112 year life span plus some relics from the early days of the British Rail Western Region. The Centre features the complete 1932 steam locomotive depot, other GWR stations, outbuildings and signal boxes relocated from all areas which were encompassed within the "kingdom of the GWR".
