Currently working on:          Arch Enemy - Live in Japan DVD

May 14th 2008

Work has just started on the Arch Enemy Live in Japan DVD which I directed at Studio Coast in Tokyo in March. The show was fantastic and the Japanese crowd were totally crazy.

April 29th 2008

The OMD DVD which I directed and edited is now No.1 in the Music DVD charts which is extremely exciting. A very big thank you to everyone who made this happen and worked on this project.

AND NOWWWW, I'm back from Russia after witnessing the ear destroying set from Arch Enemy at DK Gorbunova in Moscow. That city is totally amazing and I met such a great group of people over there. Extra special thanks have to go to Andrey Maksimkin from JC Sound - the best promoters around. Together with Igor and Lena who were the best hosts and tour guides and Jeff & Sasha, they made the best group of people you could ever hope to work with. I can't wait to go back there.

March 16th 2008

I've just returned from the Japanese Tour with Arch Enemy. It was certainly an amazing experience and mixing with the Japanese fans, who I'd like to thank, was great. We filmed the show at Studio Coast in Tokyo which I directed. The fans were totally crazy and the show was incredible. The shoot was only possible because of all the hard work which Creativeman Productions and Fuji Pacific undertook. I would like to especially thank Mr. Uehara, the president of Fuji Pacific. Also Mr. Noz and Ken Sakamoto made the shoot extremely smooth as well as Layli and AO from Creativeman. I would also like to thank Jason, Peter and Shirley from Widescreen in the UK.

February 2rd 2008

Work has now started on the Liverpool No.1 project. Julie Gardner from JamDVD is mixing the audio in the studio in stereo and 5.1 for the DVD release. The concert was filmed in Liverpool with bands who had a no.1 hit and came from Liverpool.

January 7th 2008

The start of the new year and the studio upgrade is complete. I'm certainly feeling a lot older right now. The studio furniture looks great and everyone at Argosy has been extremely helpful.

November 5th 2007

The studio is now in total chaos as part of the refurbishment. The old Mackie analogue mixer and all the wiring has been stripped out to make room for the new Neve. The Pro Tools is also being upgraded to an HD3 Accel system with Apogee AD-8000 converters and a new Intel Mac.

August 7th 2007

Now that the OMD DVD is complete, work has started on the Joe Jackson concert which we filmed in May this year at Islington Academy. A selection of songs along with some interviews and special features are going to be included with Joe's new album "RAIN" which will be released in January 2008.

May 20th 2007

The film shoot for the Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark DVD took place over the last couple of days at Hammersmith Apollo. The band played a great show and the audience were crazy. The show was directed by myself and produced by Julie Gardner from JamDVD . The editing is going to start in a couple of days time.

April 1st 2007

The new Area 54 album "Bring Out Your Dead" which was recorded and mixed in the studio, is now available on Retaliate Records. You can get your copy now from the band's website or Amazon. The album artwork was designed by the master Joachim Luetke.

March 30th 2007

The Arch Enemy DVD "Live Apocalypse" has just won DVD of the Year 2006 in Burrn! Magazine from Japan. I would just like to say that I love Burrn! and all it's readers.

February 6th 2007

I'm back in sunny (raining) old England after having all the luggage and equipment lost somewhere in Paris. I've had no sleep for days but it's been a blast. The crowds in South America are totally wild and the place is absolutely amazing - can't wait to get back there. Got some crazy footage of some crazy South Americans. Now all I have to do is work off all the food I ate out there.

January 25th 2007

Well, I've finally arrived in Santiago, Chile with Arch Enemy after the most amazing journey taking in London Heathrow, Amsterdam and Sao Paulo. Normally when I'm traveling, I'm like Marcus Brody from Indiana Jones who is said to know every single local custom and language and will blend in. The reality of this is more like what happened in Indiana Jones where you're walking round with a group of people and you haven't got a clue what's going on and you're trying to find someone who can speak Ancient Greek - welcome to touring I say haha. Got equipment, passports, money, band members and myself to look after - something isn't going to make it back to England I'm sure.

December 24th 2006

I hope everyone is festive and merry. I'm having Christmas off this year so there will be time to catch up with the obligatory James Bond Christmas movie - I don't even know what it is this year. Just had a massive dose of injections in preparation for a trip to South America filming with Arch Enemy so I think I'm going to go and lie down.

November 20th 2006

I'VE GONE DEAFFFFFFFF. I've just had two days of brutal assault on the senses courtesy of Mr. Tom Araya and the rest of the guys from Slayer. The guys played two killer shows at Brixton Academy in London still rocking as consistently as ever. I would also like to add that Jeff Hanneman was looking very refreshed and youthful.

October 14th 2006

Work is continuing on the Pretenders show filmed in April at Koko in Camden. The footage is looking great and I'm really happy with it.

July 24th 2006

The Arch Enemy DVD "Live Apocalypse" which I started last November is released today so rush out to your local record emporium and be kind to yourself - JUST BUY IT.  It will help cool you down after all this summer weather we've been suffering. There is also an interview with myself on the French / Walloonian Arch Enemy website.  Don't worry - it's in English too.  Look out for the action picture of Michael Amott and myself mid edit - slaving over a hot computer.  Many thanks go out to Frédéric Maujion.iv

June 12th 2006

Our congratulations this month go out to studio clients Trivium for winning at the Metal Hammer awards.  The band picked up 3 awards: Best Live Band, Best Drummer (Travis Smith) and Golden God 2006 (Matt Heafy).  I think I was narrowly beaten in the Golden God catagory - I voted thousands of times - honest.

May 22nd 2006

Congratulations to studio clients Lordi on their superb victory in the Eurovision Song Contest yesterday.  Who would have thought Terry Wogan would ever be converted to ROCK come on Tel, put your tie around your head, rip the sleeves off your suit and see you in the pit \m/.
