Sikorsky R-4B Hoverfly

First flown in September 1939, the Sikorsky VS-300 proved to be the basis of the worlds first practical helicopter, with an order for 100 R-4B's for the USAAF in 1943, with a further order for 45 R-4B's for the British armed services which was named Hoverfly. The Hoverfly seated two crew, side by side with dual controls, with a very small payload.
